Monna was started by brother and sister Robbie and Nicky, inspired by long beach days, summer travel and spending time outdoors.
The idea came from travelling to beaches around the world. From Europe to Australia, we kept noticing the same thing: great-looking beach umbrellas were everywhere, but back home, the options felt a little underwhelming. They weren’t always easy to set up, either.
We thought there had to be a better way. A beach umbrella should look good, be easy to use and stay put when the sea breeze picks up. Getting to the beach should be the easy part, not wrestling with a pole or digging a hole just to get some shade.
With a background in engineering, Nicky took on the challenge of rethinking one of the most important parts of the umbrella: the anchor. After plenty of prototypes and testing, we landed on a design that makes setting up simpler and keeps your umbrella more secure.
Monna is all about making beach days easier, with thoughtfully designed gear that works as well as it looks. Less time setting up, more time doing what you came for.
